Jennifer Gossen

Jennifer Gossen is reshaping what it means to lead in the world of data, technology, and venture capital. After studying economics, politics, and business, she gained hands-on experience through internships in consulting, startups, and VC. What drew her in was the potential of data to make work environments smarter, more efficient, and more humane. At Oxford, she studies Social Data Science, combining technical knowledge with a deep understanding of social systems.

Throughout her journey, Jennifer faced the pressure to constantly prove herself in male-dominated spaces. She used to believe she had to speak louder or have all the answers. Over time, she discovered that her strength lies in calm confidence, empathy, and preparation. One of her professors told her she appeared to have everything under control without being stressed. That moment helped her realize the quiet power she brings into a room.

Outside of her academic work, Jennifer finds joy in the dark academia aesthetic. She loves spending time in old libraries, writing her thesis over coffee, and finding beauty in daily routines. Her personal obsessions include almond croissants and matcha, which fuel her long study sessions and reflective walks through Oxford.

Her advice to young women stepping into unfamiliar or competitive fields is simple. Do not wait to feel ready. Ask questions. Take the first step. Apply even when you are unsure. You never know where your curiosity might lead.
